Note to readers:

Hello, faithful readers.
It's with some regret that I must tell you that I may not be posting for a week or two.
While I've been known to vanish without a trace before, I've decided that it's unfair to leave you all hanging without some sort of explanation anymore.
Believe me, you are probably more important to me than I am to you, and I'd hate to lose a single one of you.

There's nothing to be overly alarmed about.
I'm just experiencing a spate of health set-backs that make it uncomfortable for me to sit at my computer (or anywhere else for that matter) for any length of time.
I tend, as you know, to write rather long posts and I'm finding it difficult to continue under the circumstances.
I've been to the Dr. and am looking forward to a complete recovery in the next week or so, so please be patient, I will return in the blink of an eye.

Since I also can't spend a lot of time surfing the web, if you happen to find something that catches your eye or interest, please feel free to add a comment, with the web address, after this message and I'll follow it up as my health allows.

Thanks a million, one and all, and stay on guard against tyranny and injustice wherever it raises its ugly head, because, we are the People.

One final thing as a parting gift for the voracious among you.
I'd like to recommend a book that I'm reading for the third time through.
Everytime I read it I'm stunned and amazed by its shear beauty of language (almost poetry I'd say) and the depth of its insights into the ways of humans.
It's fairly short, very fast and as satisfying as dinner at Per Se.

"The Razor's Edge"
by
W. Somerset Maugham.

I declare it an absolute "must read."
Enjoy, and goodbye for now.

It is with a sad heart that I post a comment like this, but Z wouldn't want to leave you hanging. Today he passed away after a battle with his illness. Here is just a little of what I have to say about him, what I thought of him and how much I loved him.

Great thinker of ideas, creator of music and beauty, challenger of conformity, bastard extraordinaire, veteran, father of two beautiful daughters and one son, husband and best friend. From the moment I met him, he challenged me and those around him to see things from a different perspective; to challenge what you were taught; to think differently and to be the person you are. It didn't matter to him if it was the government pressuring you, your parents, your best friend or, quite often, him. He loved to discuss, he loved to sit around, beer in hand and hash it out. He loved to enlighten your mind with a fact here and there (and he had plenty of them) that turned your world, and everything you believed, upside down. He was a 'challenger' in every sense of the word. A grumpy bastard whose long gray hair and and great laugh will be missed more than can be imagined by those he loved and who loved him.

Go back and read some of his posts in his archives...he would love that. He had so much to say and I for one intend to do that and try and keep up with some of his larger post topics so that the things he thought were important will be important to others.

In one of my last conversations with him we were hashing out a plan for complete world anarchy!! hahahaha....stay at home, dont go to work, consume, consume so that all of our resources are gone and we face the crisis that is inevitable anyway. True Zorpack genius! You had to love him.

Thank you Katinula.

I had the pleasure of working with Z for a few months before his passing.

Z was a great guy. He was very smart and very funny. He had a great big heart and cared about the world. On a personal level he warned about the inevitable that is coming ahead using facts and not rumors.

Z was one of those amazing people in my life that has made a big effect to me. In a good way of course.

Z was very fun to be around with and to discuss things about the world, about our lives, anything.

I will miss Z. He was a good friend and a confidant.

I will never forget you Z!

And yes, my friend, we will see you soon.

VIVE LA RESISTANCE!!!

Oh no, oh no, oh no... no, no, no, no...

Sweet precious man, one of my best friends, ever, I hope you are jamming on the guitar of your choice, with the best collection of musicians the universe has to offer you.

You gave us your talent, your creative genius, your wit and wisdom, shared freely and with compassion.

I am going to miss you so much! I am honored that you walked this Earth with us and that your spirit touched so many, so deeply.

Think I'm going to write you a song. On your next break, listen up, I will try to sing loud enough for you to hear.

Play a lot, my friend.

Love,

Kate, in Alaska

You brought tears of laughter to me, Zorp.. and now tears of sadness and joy fill me. The first, because I'll miss your tremendous will, creative genius (man- I needed my thesaurus at times when you'd start our adventures into the various landscapes and mind wanderings of yours), and joy in that I know you are vibrant and light filled- love surrounds you here and on the otherside, Zorp- keep filling it up and spreading it around us all. Watch over your family and friends, would you? We all miss you so much.

Floatingrocks said she'd care for your goat, my friend. :)

Akawa Chia'kinte. There are no goodbyes in Lakota- see you somewhere down the path.
Lovingly, jenal

Dear Katinula, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I too, remember Zorpack's incredible ability to bring out the factsd worth pondering. He was a respected member of the OSA Forum. He had a big heart. May Zorp's words and music live on!
Love, Redshift
